Education is of great importance in the knowledge society, globalization trends set the tone of today’s culture, the need to allow all and sundry to make fruitful their abilities, skills and talents, is one of the foundations of education Current. Not forgetting that the country’s internal conflict, unequal conditions being experienced in many places especially in underdeveloped countries generate dissatisfaction, crisis and difficulty meeting the goals of education.
Analyzing the basics of education is modeled as pillars, learning to learn, determining the possibility that students are able to develop thought processes considering that in them there is awareness of the responsibility in the teaching- learning, reinforcing and strengthening critical in decision-making, learning to be, the school has a very important mission related to the formation of people of integrity, who are appropriately integrated into society, they are good people who know how to recognize the human dignity under all current conflicts.
In 1993, UNESCO established an “International Commission on Education for the Twenty-first Century”, a phrase mentioned that I consider key to understanding the foundations of education “… education is one of the most powerful weapons we have for shape the future… ” humans build a society in which knowledge became so central to the development of a country and those teachers responsible for the education of the people should be aware of importance of this for building our society and the foundations for the future of each country.
Learning to do, it is essential to develop skills in the students to be able to apply the acquired knowledge in problem solving situations, they can participate in the construction of knowledge considering all the new technological tools that gives us the knowledge society. Learning to live together are fundamental values for society, learn to respect others, to come to mediate, reconcile are key issues for the peaceful resolution of conflicts and establishment of norms that allow us to establish agreements for the common good.
Education for life to sort, prepare, diversify trajectories, analyzing phenomena currently being experienced severe as exclusion, marked a key point because despite the ability of people to access information on the different media, there is illiteracy that now live example presented in technology when a person can not or will not access the information. Continuous learning is a must today be preparing the lifetime, and educational processes do not end, human beings must be in permanent construction, this should also facilitate appropriate interaction with others in terms of tolerance and respect.
At the World Conference on Higher Education mentioned relevant aspects of higher education, recognizing the importance of this for the development of society in economic and building the future, recognizing the challenges of new technologies with the possibility to organize, disseminate knowledge and economic stratification since the differences in opportunities for access to knowledge, the need for higher education profoundly change under values crisis facing today.
Completing the process of recognition of the characteristics of the university and all the challenges it is subject means the need for alternatives to reduce the education gap between developed and developing countries and the need to build a more equal society, more just, participatory which generates more equity for the population.
